Even though it's still pretty warm in North Carolina, I've decided to start implementing some fall themed activities with my pull-out groups. My third graders worked hard this week writing about their favorite foods made with apples. Caramel apples from the fair seemed to be the most popular!
This is from my upcoming fall writing pack! I'm super excited about it, even though my busy schedule has made it very difficult for me to find time to finish it.
Side Note: I bought the Yankee Candle apple scented car freshener and now my car smells like the inside of an apple.
My second graders have been working hard to understand the Magical "E", so I created a wand to reinforce the concept. It was super easy to make. All I did was tape an "e" to one of my pointers. The two minutes to make it was definitely worth it. I didn't think my group of boys would buy into it, but they did! They even begged me to make "E" wands for them so they could go home and teach their parents!
To get extra practice with the words, we have been using the CVCe versions of The Printable Princess' Read It, Trace It, Make It. Learning CVCe words by word families is a lot more effective, than mixing it up. That way, they are able to see the patterns in the words and make connections.
I want to share my amazing new door decor I found on Etsy! I am a very, very proud Michigan State alum, so I bought this for my front door:
I love it! I'd been on the hunt for a fall wreath for a while, and when this popped up in my search I just had to have it!
I got my first Stitch Fix this week! It was wonderful! So simple and the clothes fit so well! I kept 3 out of 5 pieces. I'm not skilled at taking selfies, so I haven't gotten any good pictures of the clothes. I did get one decent one of a surprise favorite. I saw this shirt and thought I would hate it, but it turns out that I LOVE it! Ignore my lack of selfie skills! haha
My fiance got promoted to Athletic Director this year, so he's never home anymore! That means I am spending a lot more time at high school sporting events so I can spend time with him. Tonight I went to part of the football game. Even though it's still warm outside, football makes me even more excited for fall to get here!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I am nominating you for the Liebster Award! Click on my link to find out what to do next!
