Liebster Award!

I am super excited to reveal my new blog name and design! Thanks to Courtney and Shanon over at Blogs Fit for a Queen. They are so amazing to work with! If you're looking for a new blog design, they are an amazing choice!

In addition to all these blog changes, I've been nominated for a Liebster Award by Mica from The Positively Polka Dotted Teacher. What's a Liebster Award, you ask? It's an award for new-ish bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Once you've been nominated, you answer a bunch of questions on your page, and nominate others. It's a wonderful way to highlight new bloggers and learn more about them.

Now on to the good stuff:
  1. Why and how long ago did you begin blogging?
I've been trying to blog more seriously since the beginning of this school year, but life has gotten in the way and I haven't been as successful as I'd hoped. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things now that life is getting more settled. My goal is to be more consistent in sharing what's happening in my life and my classroom.
  2. What one word sums up the heart of your blog and why?Inspiration. I am inspired by so many of the wonderful teachers I know in real and online life. My goal is that I can inspire others with their teaching!
  3. Is there something you learned late in your blog journey you wished you knew before?Connect! Just posting on your blog doesn't necessarily mean that people are going to see it and follow you. Join linky parties, share on Pinterest, etc.
  4. What is your favorite past time other than blogging?I love to travel! My fiance and I love to go on trips whenever we can. Since we're both teachers, we travel a lot over the summer and on school breaks.
  5. How many hours per week do you dedicate to your blog?In all honesty, some weeks it is 0. Some weeks it's a few hours. It just depends on what kind of paperwork I have to do and my grad school homework load for the week. Nothing is consistent in my life!
  6. What category of blog posts do you enjoy the most?I enjoy reading and writing blog posts about hands-on ways to teach reading. All of my students really struggle with reading, so any blog posts that have to do with that are really helpful for me.
  7. Where does your blog inspiration come from?
There are so many wonderful bloggers out there. I get a lot of inspiration from different things I find floating in their blogs. I also get inspiration from people I work with and Pinterest.
  8. Which post that you've written are you most proud of?I'm proud of everything I write, but my tips about starting the new year as a resource teacher is my favorite so far.
  9. Is there anything that you've been planning to do but have been postponing it for a while now?I want to post on the ways I'm working with my kinders on our letters and numbers. It's starting to click with them now and that makes my teacher heart so happy! I'd love to share what we're doing.
  10. What is your favorite aspect of blogging?I love the community feeling that comes along with blogging. I work in a small district, so I love seeing what other teachers, especially special ed teachers, are doing in their classroom!

The Rules:
Now that you've been nominated, here are the official rules for accepting:
  1. In your post, link back to the blogger who nominated you as a thank you and "shout out".
  2. Answer the 10 questions given to you (the ones I answered above).
  3. Nominate 5-11 blogs that have less than 200 followers each. Provide them with 10 questions or have them answer the questions above.
  4. Let your nominees know that they've been nominated and provide them with a link back to your post so they can accept.
  5. Send your nominator a link to your post so s/he can learn more about you as well. (You can just put your post link in the comments below).
